Candles that will never be blown and a wish you’ll never make.
Today we celebrate the men of the world, but neither of you can listen to my good wishes.
Why didn’t you ask for help?
Why couldn’t we get to you in time?
How did they fail so miserably to save your life?
Two bright lights snuffed out too soon.
Distant stars that are now forever present.
I lost two martial brothers, one to a badly treated infection and one to suicide. Today is International Men’s Day. Celebrate the wonderful men in your life, because they aren’t eternal. Men are taken for granted, they are demonized and forgotten so easily. I’m called a pick me for talking about them, but I won’t shut up. Thank you for reading, and may the ancestors guide all the souls who left too soon.
Beautiful. I stand up and applaud!
It is a beautiful poem
